Welcome to African Youth Rejuvenation Network

The African Youth Rejuvenation Network (AYRN) is a registered non-profit making organization in Kenya. (Registration number: OP.218/051/2005/0486/4010) The organization was registered in March 2006.

The organizations programmes are rooted in the African Culture; African informal methodologies of teaching are employed and combined with modern interactive approaches to learning.

The organization arose from the fact that Africa has moved towards westernization and at the same time clings to traditional values. In this scenario the youth have found themselves at crossroads and can benefit from the two worlds.

Traditionally in many African communities the youth were educated by families. The age set system (peers) would be of much significance during puberty. The peers would regulate each other’s behaviors and provide emotional support during crisis.

Today the peers are not necessarily providing positive influence. They are also becoming a source of negative influence.

It is with this background that AYRN has embarked on youth friendly programmes that are based on the African Institution of the age set. The programmes are;

  • Leadership training
  • Peer educators training
  • Team Building
  • Enhancing academic success

The youth are trained, once trained they provide other youth with information and become vehicles of positive change in the society.

Vision: To have the Kenyan youth, utilizing their full potential.

Mission: To Support peer based programmes to promote positive influence among the youth.

Overall Goal: Our programmes aims at empowering the youth to have the capacity to solve their own problems and help them cope effectively with life challenges by providing them with tools, approaches, insights and skills needed to accelerate their development.
